in response to Hopefulnewstart...Have you looked into womens refuges these specialise in assisting women and their children who are escaping violence. I work in a refuge in Australia and we help and advise and offer crisis shelter. I know they have work in this area in the States so there must be some provision available but I am afraid I dont know the detail. Look up crisis line numbers and they should be able to point you in the right direction. We have helped many women turn their lives around.
